SHOULD I SIGN MEDICAL RECORDS RELEASE FOR THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER?

If you’ve been seriously injured in a car accident, you should expect that you will soon be receiving phone calls and inquiries from insurance adjusters. One of the things they’re going to be asking you to do is to sign authorizations so that they can obtain copies of your medical records. I would seriously caution you about that. If you’ve been seriously injured and you anticipate using the services of an attorney, I would recommend that you not sign any authorizations without first obtaining legal counsel. Most times we will not provide blanket authorizations to any insurance adjuster, and we will use our methods to obtain the medical records and present those to the insurance company in the system that is most beneficial to our clients.
